Walks

Sandy beach- stretching from the tip of Findhorn bay to Burghead providing miles (approx., 10 miles) of beach-combing

Culbin forest - Forestry commission walks on the other side of Findhorn bay

Speyside Way - long distance walking trail from Spey Bay ( near Buckie ) to Tomintoul .

Watersports

Findhorn bay provides an ideal location for the water enthusiast. The Royal FindhornYacht Club hosts regattas during the Summer months.

Wildlife

Moray Firth Wildlife Centre is based at Spey Bay. Focussing on the Moray Firth Dolphins, & other wildlife in the area. It is possible to go Dolphin spotting upon the centres survey boat.

Osprey sightings at the mouth of the river Findhorn during the summer months, otters seen in Findhorn bay and seals basking on the sand banks.

Spirit of Speyside Wildlife Festival features  interesting events on the environment, 6th -13th June  (www.mfwc.co.uk ).

North east Scotland’s Coastal Trail

Beautiful, & varied coastline stretching from Findhorn in Moray to St Cyrus in Kincardineshire ( south of Aberdeen ).

Many activities to sample / places to visit : including wind-surfing, golf, bird-watching, Findhorn Heritage Centre, Maritime museums , castles etc.

Food, & Drink

Kimberley Inn , Findhorn comes highly recommended ( try the Fish Chowder soup ). Also locally there is the Crown & Anchor Hotel, & the Bunty Fish & Chip Shop ( seasonal opening hours only ). Further afield  there is: the Ramnee Hotel, Forres ; Mansion House, Elgin ; Golfview Hotel, Nairn ( menus all excellent ).
